Elliosn Miles Geotechnology Institute (EMGI)
I am the Director of the EMGI, which is part of the Math-Science Department of Brookhaven College in Dallas. The EMGI was founded with a gift from the Miles Foundation. The EMGI provides continuing education for K-12 teachers in geology in the form of workshops and field trips where teachers interact directly with working scientists trained in the Texas standards. I myself an a TAEE Life member. EMGI is a content source recognized by the Texas Regional Collaborative for Excellence in Science and Math Teaching.

The Ellison Miles Geotechnology Institute promotes and provides geoscience and related technical education through: • professional development for users of geotechnology; • instruction, materials, resources, and career guidance for teachers and students; • interaction with and among the geoscience community and the community at large.
